Army Chief inspects combat vehicles, others under construction in Borno


The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai has carried out an inspection tour of ongoing manufacture and repairs of some combat vehicles at the 107 Division Equipment Support in Maimalari Barracks, Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.

Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sagir Musa disclosed this in a statement released on Saturday.

Gen Buratai was accompanied by the Chief of Training and Operations (Army), Theatre Commander Operation Lafiya Dole, Chief of Logistics (Army), Chief of military intelligence and the Acting General Officer Commanding 7 Division among others.

Some of the inspected equipment include Armoured Personnel Carriers and mine resistant anti Ambush Protected Vehicles.

The statement added that Gen. Buratai has been in the North East Theatre of Operation since early April leading the fight against terrorism and ensure the total defeat of Boko Haram and ISWAP’s insurgency in Nigeria.
