Army Bans Sale of Petroleum Products Within Theatre Of Operation

The Theatre Command Operation Lafiya Dole has banned the sale of petroleum products in jerry cans within its operation theatres.

Colonel Isa said intelligence gathered revealed that the terrorists collaborate with businessmen to supply them various items ranging from foodstuff, drugs, fuel, chemicals, electrical materials as well as vehicular spare parts.

He explains that due to the aggressive efforts of the Nigerian Army, the terrorists can not come out openly to shop, but instead, replenish their logistics supply with the assistance of businessmen.

Consequently, the Theatre Command resolved that with effect from Thursday, 20 June 2019, the Command will place a ban on the sale of all petroleum products in Jerrycans throughout the theatre.

The Command also warned that no persons should indulge in illicit trade and other unlawful businesses with members of the terrorist groups.

Colonel Isa said the Command will monitor and fully enforce the embargo to deny the terrorists freedom of action and any source of supply within the theatre.

“Anyone caught in this act will face the full wrath of the law”, Colonel Isa said.
