The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress have set up a fact-finding and reconciliation committee to resolve the political crisis affecting its Edo State chapter.
In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Lanre Issa-Onilu, the APC said it was concerned by the worsening situation in the state chapter, noting that a lasting solution to the disagreements would be found.
Onilu added that Anselm Ojezua’s suspension, will remain effective until the fact-finding and reconciliation committee produced its report.
Ojezua was suspended by 11 of the 16 members of the executive council.
A Faction in the Edo APC led by Ojezua on Tuesday announced the suspension of the state national chairman Adams Oshiomhole for allegedly instigating the crisis in the state.
Subsequently, another faction of the party announced the suspension of the state governor, Godwin Obaseki, and his Deputy Philip Shuaibu over alleged anti-party activities.
