Ismail Danbaba, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared the winner of the Nasarawa State constituency bye-election that took place on Saturday.
The returning officer, Iiyasu Umar who announced the results late Saturday said Danbaba scored 7,475 to defeat Bage Nuhu of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who got 4,608 votes.
According to Umar, a total of 12,217 votes from which 134 were declared invalid.
Speaking after he was declared winner, Danbaba promised effective representation to his people and thanked the people for voting for him.
He replaces Sulieman Adamu of the APC who died in April 2020.
