It was a mixture of feelings for parents and guardians of the abducted students of the Bethel Baptist High School, Kaduna after 15 of them were freed by their captors over the weekend.
The fresh batch of 15, were released by their abductors on Saturday, after spending 48 days in captivity.
Baptist Convention President, Israel Akanji, supervised the reuniting of the freed students with their families on Sunday in Kaduna.
On July 5th, 2021, the bandits invaded the school, killing two security agents, and abducted 121 students.
The bandits released 28 of them on July 25, after a ransom was allegedly paid to the kidnappers. The rest managed to escape from the captors between July 22 and August 3.
The release of the 15 students brings the total number of those freed so far to 56 while 65 others are still in captivity.
