Preparatory to the Anambra State Governorship election scheduled to hold on 6th November 2021, the Independent National Electoral Commission has released the list of candidates for the election.

Conspicuously missing from the list are the notable names of the former Central Bank Governor, Chukwuma Soludo and ex-TransCorp Hilton Hotel boss, Chief Valentine Ozoigbo and their deputies under the platforms of the All Progressives Grand Alliance and the Peoples Democratic Party respectively.

According to a statement originating from the Independent National Electoral Commission headquarters, National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education, Festus Okoye says the Commission considered and took cognizance of the Judgments/Court Orders served on it in relation to the primaries of the political parties and other processes leading to the election.

He maintains that the Commission will continue to act in consonance with the Constitution and the law and will continue to obey the judgments and orders of courts served on it.

Meanwhile, candidates of 15 other political parties made the cut including Senator Emmanuel Nnamdi Uba aka Andy Uba and his 53 year-old Deputy Governorship Candidate Johnbosco Okechukwu Anaedobe, of the opposition All Progressive Congress.

Others whose names are in the cleared list are Senator Ifeanyi Patrick Ubah and his Deputy, Dr. Aloysius Ekee of Young Progressive Party (YPP), among others.
