Anambra 2025: APC’s Ukachukwu Returns from Meeting with Tinubu, Debunks Alliance Rumours with Soludo

Ukachukwu unveils Senator Uche Ekwunife as running mate, says APC is on a mission to “connect Anambra to the centre.”

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Anambra State, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, has denied claims that President Bola Tinubu and the APC are in alliance with Governor Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

Ukachukwu, who returned to Anambra on Saturday after a strategic visit to President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, was received at a grand event at the Chinua Achebe Airport. He used the occasion to publicly debunk reports of any alliance with the incumbent governor and to formally present his running mate, Senator Uche Ekwunife, to the party’s stakeholders.

“APC is Tinubu, and Tinubu is APC,” Ukachukwu declared. “There is no alliance with APGA or Governor Soludo. Anyone claiming such is simply spreading falsehood. If APC isn’t strong in Anambra, why are they using our name to campaign?”

The businessman-turned-politician said President Tinubu had given him a direct mandate: “Go and get me Anambra State and connect it to the centre.”

He urged APC members to take the message to the grassroots and prepare to deliver the state to the ruling party. “Senator Ekwunife and I are capable of this task, but we need your total support,” he said.

Introducing his running mate, Ukachukwu described Ekwunife as a “political juggernaut” and a well-known leader with the experience and influence to help steer the campaign to victory.

Also speaking at the event, the APC Chairman in Anambra State, Mr. Basil Ejidike, reaffirmed the party’s position. “Today has set the record straight. Prince Ukachukwu met with the President. There is no alliance with Soludo or APGA. We are fully in this race and heading to Government House.”

Ejidike added that the presidency and APC national leadership had reaffirmed Ukachukwu as the party’s flagbearer, strengthening their resolve to contest and win the upcoming election.
