Following the adulteration of Premium Motor Spirit otherwise known as Petrol, which led to panic buying and long queues, the Federal Government has said there will be a major investigation to know the cause of the unsafe quantity of methanol in the fuel imported into the country. The Minister of State for Petroleum, Timipre Sylva, made this known at a media briefing after the Federal Executive Council meeting in the State House, on Wednesday. Although the Minister refused to disclose the identities of the companies involved, he said they will be made known after the investigations are concluded. He also disclosed that the Federal Government would put into consideration Nigerians whose cars were damaged after using the adulterated fuel.
