Relatives of the victims of the Abuja Kaduna train attack have received cheering news on Wednesday as seven more kidnapped passengers have regained their freedom.
The victims were released on Wednesday morning after spending 135 days in the custody of the terrorists.
According to reports, Kaduna-based Islamic cleric, Ahmad Gumi, had reached out to the abductors through his media consultant, Malam Tukur Mamu, appealing to them to release the children from captivity.
Although the police authorities are yet to confirm the development, a member of the negotiating team, Tukur Mamu told journalists that six of the released hostages are members of the same family, which include a couple and their four children.
It is however not clear if any ransom was paid to the terrorists for their release.
To speak more on this, f Dennis Amachree, former Deputy Director, Department of State Services, joins us now. Thank you very much for joining us.
