Abortion policy: Civil society organizations criticize alleged attempts to legalize act in Nigeria

A group of civil society organizations have accused the minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, of launching a comprehensive abortion policy as against the Nigerian constitution.

At a press briefing, made up of religious leaders, lawyers, human rights activists and students, speakers say legalizing abortion in the country will reduce Nigeria’s human capital and increase moral der-cadence among the nation’s young population.

They added that campaigns against abortion will help educate the youth, especially females on its dangers and negative effects on the family unit and society.
