The abductors of the two former players of Enyimba forward Dayo Ojo and Benjamin Iluyomade of Abia Comets have demanded a ransom of N20m for their release.

Both footballers were abducted on the Benin-Akure Expressway, at Ipele in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State, on Sunday evening.

They were said to have been on their way to Lagos following a break in the Nigeria Professional Football League over the coronavirus pandemic.

According to family sources, the kidnappers had initially demanded N100 million on Sunday but later reduced it to N20 million after a plea from the families.

The Ondo State Police Command said it has deployed its men on the trail of the kidnappers.
