245 new persons tests positive to COVID-19 in Nigeria, total case now 7,261


245 new persons have just tested positive to the Coronavirus disease bringing the total positive cases to 7,261.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control announced this in a late night tweet on Friday.

The Heath agency in a series of tweet announced that out of the 245 cases, Lagos recorded the highest with 131 new cases.

Other highlighted cases include: 16 in Jigawa, 13 in Ogun, 12 in Borno, 9 in Kaduna, Oyo, Rivers and Ebonyi.

The second epicenter of the disease in Nigeria, Kano recorded 8 new cases, while Kwara recorded 7, Katsina with 5 new cases, Akwa Ibom and Sokoto recorded 3 new cases each, Bauchi and Yobe recorded 2 new cases each.

Recording the lowest, Anambra, Gombe, Niger, Ondo, Plateau, FCT and Bayelsa recorded one case each.

A total of 2,007 persons have been discharged while death toll has increased to 221.
