2023 presidency: The leaders declaring interest are recycled politicians- Maduka


The Ekiti state governor, Kayode Fayemi has promised to adopt a holistic approach in fighting insecurity in Nigeria.

Fayemi who is also the chairman of Nigerian Governors’ Forum, NGF, made this known in Abuja on Wednesday when he officially announced his intention to run for the presidential seat in the 2023 general election.

Flanked by party members, top government functionaries and diplomats, the aspirant pledged his determination to make Nigeria a better place if elected president.

More than 20 presidential aspirants have publicly declared their interest to run for the seat of the president in 2023. Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, Former Governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomole are the latest aspirants to join the pool, all promising change and reforms for Nigeria’s economy. With just a few months until the 2023 general elections, what does this mean for the country’s polity?
