The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has organized an induction retreat for its National Commissioners on Monday.
Speaking at the event, the INEC chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, reassured Nigerians of the commission’s commitment to conduct credible polls in 2023.
According to him, the commission has concluded the strategic plans of 2022 to 2026 and election project plan for the 2023 general elections, and will soon finalize works on the regulations and guidelines for elections.
On his part, the chief technical advisor to INEC chairman, Bolade Eyin-la, explained that the retreat is important to ensure that newly inducted commissioners are familiar with the mandate of the commission In order to meet the standard of international best.
