The minister of justice and attorney general of the federation, Abubakar Malami has commended the members of the national assembly for their continued support to the ministry of justice and ensuring the rule of law in the country.
Malami made the remarks to members of the Senate Committee on Judiciary , Human Rights and Legal Matters during the 2023 budget defence session with the committee .
The minister maintained that through the policies passed by the legislature, monies have been recovered for infrastructure development.
Meanwhile, in his remarks , the Chairman of the Committee, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, said the 2023 budget estimates for the Federal Ministry of Justice and its agencies as contained in the Appropriation Bill submitted by President Muhammadu Buhari, is N71.291 billion.
The lawmaker also revealed the total sum is inclusive of allocations to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA and statutory transfer to the National Human Rights Commission.
