The Nigerian Flying Eagles coach, Ladan Bosso is set to announce the team’s provisional squad list on Wednesday for the West African Football Union WAFU U-20 tournament scheduled for November 18th to December 2nd.
The team has been drawn in Group B of the zonal qualifiers of the tournament alongside Ivory Coast and Ghana.
“We have been screening players to get the best to represent the country and we are getting closer. On Wednesday (today) we will release the provisional squad for the tournament,” Bosso said.
He also expressed confidence in his team’s ability to qualify for the tournament in Mauritania despite their short preparation.
“Everybody is going there (Togo) to compete for a slot. We are in the same group with Ghana and Ivory Coast and I believe it is a blessing in disguise.
“We are training for a competition not just for one match. We are confident we will qualify from this group and move to the next group.
“The most important thing is to get prepared and get the mindset of the players very positive, and forget it,” Bosso added.
The Nigerian Flying Eagles are seven-time champions of the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations titles.
